Community activist Quanell X has since spoken out against the treatment of the couple, calling the arrest unjust and racially motivated. “This is an absolute disgrace. A couple simply enjoying their anniversary was targeted and humiliated for no reason other than their refusal to comply with unreasonable demands,” he said.

The incident has sparked outrage with Quanell X and other community activists calling for accountability from both the restaurant and the police. Quanell X argues that the swift police response and arrest reflect a broader issue of racial bias in public spaces.

El Tiempo Cantina has yet to issue a formal statement addressing the incident. Meanwhile,  Quanell X and The New Black Panther Nation is demanding justice and an investigation into the actions of both the restaurant and law enforcement officers involved.

This developing story has raised critical discussions about racial discrimination, equal treatment in service industries, and the role of law enforcement in such disputes.
